This is not a new scheme and was named Indiramma Amrutha Hastham earlier. But Telangana government made many changes to this program. Eight eggs were used to be provided to children in the age group of seven months to three years. Now 16 eggs are being supplied. Along with eggs a two and half kilogram packet containing wheat, milk powder, Bengal gram, sugar and oil are supplied on the first of every month. Thirty eggs per month are supplied to kids in the age group of three to six years. Rice, dal, vegetable and snacks are also given. Pregnant women and new mothers belonging to economically weaker sections were given three kgs of rice, one kilogram Tur Dal and half kilogram of oil. Now these get 30 eggs, one nutritious meal in a day and 200 ml milk. Government is going to provide nutritious food to 5,90,414 pregnant women, lactating women and 18,20,901 children.

After renaming the scheme as Arogya Lakshmi, Telangana government also enhanced the quantity of food provided to feeding mothers, pregnant women and children below the age of six years belonging to economically weaker sections. The government is taking care to use rice and milk of very good quality to be supplied. Anganwadi centers must carry out the scheme with no scope for complaints.
